Aerosmith’s Joey Kramer signs first Connecticut
retail partnership for his organic, whole-bean coffee line
BOSTON, MA (July 23, 2013) – Joey Kramer, drummer for the rock sensation Aerosmith, is quickly expanding his whole-bean, organic coffee line’s availability in the New England market. Today, Kramer announces that Geissler’s Supermarket will be the first retailer in Connecticut to put his three Rockin’ & Roastin’ brews on the shelves of their stores statewide.
Kramer has returned stateside during the month of July while on a short break from Aerosmith’s world tour and has been busy lining up retail partnerships with specialty grocers in the northeast. This month, Kramer has announced upcoming java availability at Roche Bros. (18 locations in MA), Dave’s Fresh Marketplace (nine locations in RI), Durham Marketplace (Durham, NH) and Trucchi’s Supermarkets (six locations in MA).
With the new week comes his partnership with Geissler’s Supermarket. Geissler’s Supermarket has seven locations in Connecticut (Agawam, Bloomfield, East Windsor, Granby, Somers, South Windsor and Windsor) which will soon be home to Rockin’ & Roastin’ coffee. Geissler’s Supermarkets have a reputation for providing excellent quality products and customer service with a focus on freshness, variety and value.
“Geissler’s has a near century-old heritage in Connecticut. Family-owned businesses, like Geissler’s, are the ideal home for Rockin’ & Roastin’ because their attention to offering top specialty products is of utmost priority,” says Kramer.
Says Geissler’s Supermarket buyer, Bob Rybick, “Geissler’s is committed to exploring and identifying the best purveyors out there in order to bring unique, quality options inside our stores. I’m confident that Rockin’ & Roastin’ will be a #1 hit with our loyal, knowledgeable customer base.”
In May, Kramer announced his partnership with Comfort Foods (N. Andover, MA) who now roasts, packages and distributes his trio of small-batch brews: two Dark roasts, from Sumatra and Ethiopia, and one Dark-Medium, hailing from Guatemala. Previously only available for online retail, Comfort Foods now is able to meet the demand for Kramer’s Rockin’ & Roastin’ expansion into the retail market.
Through June of 2014, sipping one of Kramer’s three brews also has a delicious charitable benefit. In June, Kramer announced a year-long campaign to donate a portion of his coffee sales to auto-dealership magnate, Ernie Boch, Jr.’s (Boch Enterprises) nonprofit organization, Music Drives Us, which supplies grants for music programs to effect positive changes for people in need throughout New England.
Rockin’ & Roastin’ will be available all Geissler’s Supermarket locations in mid-August and will retail for $7.99-$8.99 per 12-ounce bag. ABOUT ROCKIN’ & ROASTIN’ COFFEE:
Joey Kramer of Aerosmith is a coffee-loving Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer. The story of Joey Kramer’s Rockin’ & Roastin’ organic, custom-roasted coffee blends begins in the field. Unlike “sun grown” coffee that’s cheaper to produce but requires chemical fertilizers and pesticides and leads to the destruction of native rainforests, Rockin’ & Roastin’ Coffee is lovingly cultivated using the traditional “shade grown” method, under a canopy of indigenous trees. This sustainable practice supports a wide diversity of plant and animal life, provides food and shelter to migrating birds, and helps to filter carbon dioxide from the air, reducing the danger of global warming. There is currently a trio of international blends offered: two Dark roasts, from Sumatra and Ethiopia; and, a Dark-Medium, hailing from Guatemala.
