Aerosmith’s Joey Kramer brings his coffee to Worcester County
BOSTON, MA (X – DATE – X) – Aerosmith’s drumming legend, Joey Kramer, is continuing the pursuit to bring his organic coffee line, Rockin’ & Roastin’, to the shelves of Park ‘n Shop locations in Central Massachusetts.
With three locations throughout southern Worcester County, Park ‘n Shop is a family-owned full-service grocer that was established in 1918 in Webster, MA. Today, the company owns three locations in Auburn, Blackstone and Dudley. With over 95 years of experience, Park ‘n Shop has been committed to providing their customers with only the highest quality products and attention to service through their wide variety of both local and national offerings.
“Park ‘n Shop is notorious for featuring the finest products in the Worcester area for nearly a century,” says Kramer. “Their patrons know the meaning of quality and value and that’s just what I hope they’ll find with Rockin’ & Roastin’.”
Kevin Houghton, Senior Grocery Buyer at Park ‘n Shop, says, “We’re excited to welcome Rockin’& Roastin’ into the Park ‘n Shop family. We are committed to providing our shoppers with superior offerings and with Joey’s coffee on our shelves, we are continuing that tradition.”
In May, Kramer announced his partnership with Comfort Foods (N. Andover, MA) who now roasts, packages and distributes his trio of small-batch brews: two Dark roasts, from Sumatra and Ethiopia, and one Dark-Medium, hailing from Guatemala. Previously only available for online retail, Comfort Foods now is able to meet the demand for Kramer’s rapid expansion into the retail market. Currently the coffee is available in both whole-bean and ground forms and soon, Kramer will unveil a single-serving option.
Through June of 2014, sipping one of Kramer’s three brews also has a delicious charitable benefit. In June, Kramer announced a year-long campaign to donate a portion of his coffee sales to auto-dealership magnate, Ernie Boch, Jr.’s (Boch Enterprises) nonprofit organization, Music Drives Us, which supplies grants for music programs to effect positive changes for people in need throughout New England.
"Ernie has been friends with Joey for many years," adds Frank Cimler, Kramer’s attorney and Rockin’ & Roastin’ business partner. "They're both big fans of music and coffee so it made a lot of sense. Rockin' & Roastin' will give a deliberate and meaningful contribution from each sale to Music Drives Us to benefit those throughout New England.”
Rockin’ & Roastin’ will be available in all Park ‘n Shop locations in mid-August and will retail for $7.99-$8.99 per 12-ounce bag. ABOUT ROCKIN’ & ROASTIN’ COFFEE:
Joey Kramer of Aerosmith is a coffee-loving Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer. The story of Joey Kramer’s Rockin’ & Roastin’ organic, custom-roasted coffee blends begins in the field. Unlike “sun grown” coffee that’s cheaper to produce but requires chemical fertilizers and pesticides and leads to the destruction of native rainforests, Rockin’ & Roastin’ Coffee is lovingly cultivated using the traditional “shade grown” method, under a canopy of indigenous trees. This sustainable practice supports a wide diversity of plant and animal life, provides food and shelter to migrating birds, and helps to filter carbon dioxide from the air, reducing the danger of global warming. There is currently a trio of international blends offered: two Dark roasts, from Sumatra and Ethiopia; and, a Dark-Medium, hailing from Guatemala. ABOUT PARK ‘N SHOP INC.
Park ‘n Shop was founded in 1918 in Webster, MA, by first generation Albanian immigrant, Alex Pappas. From the beginning, Park n’ Shop was a family business, as Pappas’ sons Peter and Charlie, grew up learning at an early age what it took to run a local business. After booming success, Charlie Pappas opened his own location in Dudley Park. By 1950, after a couple of location changes and a name change to the present Park ‘n Shop, Charlie had gone on his own with the Dudley Park ‘n Shop branch of the chain. This quickly outgrew its building and was moved to the present location on Airport Road when that site became available. Charlie has said, "We enjoy the close, intimate relationship between the employees and the customers. That is the way my father ran his business, and that is the way that we will carry on the tradition. We are here to serve our customers the best way we know, not just as businessmen, but as friends also.” The company presently operates three Park ‘n Shop Supermarkets in the towns of Dudley, Auburn and Blackstone.
