Aerosmith’s Joey Kramer joins forces with auto mogul Ernie Boch, Jr., for a fueled up fundraising initiative
BOSTON, MA (June 28, 2013) – Joey Kramer, drummer for the Boston-bred rock sensation Aerosmith, and Ernie Boch, Jr., auto-dealership magnate from Boch Enterprises, are pleased to announce their new charitable initiative. Through June of 2014, Kramer and his whole-bean, organic coffee company, Rockin’ & Roastin’, will donate a portion of its sales to Boch’s Music Drives Us nonprofit foundation.
“Ernie and I have long shared a love of music and with my pledge, we will be able to further deliver that passion to local New England communities that are near and dear to both of us,” said Kramer.
“Music Drives Us” supplies grants for music programs to effect positive changes for people in need throughout New England. Since 2006, the foundation seeks out organizations and individuals that are interested in using music as a tool for all segments of society and for all age groups.
Says Boch, who first announced the partnership live at Thursday evening’s Red Sox and Blue Jays game, “As a regular coffee drinker, I highly recommend Joey Kramer's Rockin & Roastin' coffee! I am honored that Joey has chosen Music Drives Us to share in the benefits of his philanthropic efforts."
In 2012, Joey Kramer, a coffee-loving Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer, started Rockin’ & Roastin’ Coffee after the trail to find the perfect brew went cold. Through his insatiable thirst for a chart-topping java, Kramer traveled the world and hit the presses which led to an expertly developed trio of sustainable coffees: two “Dark” roasts, from Sumatra and Ethiopia; and, a “Dark-Medium,” hailing from Guatemala. In May of 2013, Kramer announced his partnership with Comfort Foods, Inc. (North Andover, MA), who is now responsible for roasting, packaging and distributing his coffee line.
Adds Kramer’s business representative, attorney Frank Cimler, “With Rockin’ & Roastin’, we have spent countless hours researching and identifying organizations and companies that share our passion and dedication. ‘Music Drives Us’ and Comfort Foods are two prime examples of such and we look forward to giving back to the community.”
ABOUT ROCKIN’ & ROASTIN’ COFFEE:
Joey Kramer of Aerosmith is a coffee-loving Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer. The story of Joey Kramer’s Rockin’ & Roastin’ organic, custom-roasted coffee blends begins in the field. Unlike “sun grown” coffee that’s cheaper to produce but requires chemical fertilizers and pesticides and leads to the destruction of native rainforests, Rockin’ & Roastin’ Coffee is lovingly cultivated using the traditional “shade grown” method, under a canopy of indigenous trees. This sustainable practice supports a wide diversity of plant and animal life, provides food and shelter to migrating birds, and helps to filter carbon dioxide from the air, reducing the danger of global warming. There is currently a trio of international blends offered: two Dark roasts, from Sumatra and Ethiopia; and, a Dark-Medium, hailing from Guatemala.
